Writing services
A complete website writing service
As a website writer, I work with you to figure outhow your website can work hardest for you.
Together, we’ll deep-dive into who you are, how you help your customer base, what problems you solve for them, why you do what you do (and how you do it better than the others), and so much more.
Using inspired market research, tactical SEO expertise, and that fabulous collaborative briefing process, I write website content that connects you with visitors and makes them feel like you’re speaking directly to them.
What does the website writing service involve?
I write all the words that comprise your website – from a snappy homepage intro to all those juicy keyword-rich and info-dense sub-pages.
But more than that, I help you ensure your website is being used to your strategic advantage.
At a glance, the web writing service typically includes:
- A 90-minute initial briefing meeting (in-person, depending on location)
- Scope for additional content calls with other stakeholders
- Market and SEO research
- First draft of the website content produced in a Word Doc
- Final draft of the website content, with your amends applied.
Each project is unique. Depending on the scope of the project and your support requirements, there may be additional steps to your client journey.
How does the website content writing service work?
If I’d have to describe the website-writing service in three words, I’d say it’s bespoke, collaborative, and flexible.
Not everyone wants the same outcomes from their website, which is why I work with you to outline exactly what you want your site to do. Then, I write to reflect those needs.
Here are some key features of my website writing service:
Collaborative where it counts
The briefing meeting and any follow-up content calls are where I meet with you and/or key stakeholders.
During our meeting, we’ll tease out answers to questions like:
- What problems do you solve for your clients?
- How do you want your website to sound?
- What makes you special?
- What is the website being used for?
- What needs to be on which page?
Think of me as a magic Dictaphone. You speak your ideas, insight and relevant info into the magical machine and it all comes out the other side as perfectly worded website copy.
A hands-off experience for the client
The whole point of getting a skilled professional to write your website is that you barely have to lift a finger (or a pen) at any point.
The only time you’ll need to wade into the process is during the fun creative bits. I’ll be picking your brain during the briefing meeting and will encourage you to share your ideas and insight. Then, when it’s time to review the first draft, all you need to do is read it and note down any thoughts and feedback.
No need to provide any rough drafts or long notes via email This process is designed to be smooth, timely and stress-free for you.
Every website is bespoke
I adapt my approach to reflect your unique requirements. Some of the ways I do this include:
- helping you work out the structure and size of your site
- planning content that appeals to your unique audience
- spotlighting what makes you special, be that a niche service you provide or your approach to your work
- creating a unique tone of voice for your organisation
- defining calls to action each step of the way.
Because each project is bespoke, I price them individually. I don’t issue additional charges unless the work falls outside of project parameters.
Why get a copywriter to write your website?
Anyone can write their own website. I wrote mine (althought it’d be a little odd if I didn’t). But having an experienced professional writer take care of it has its advantages:
- Writing those pesky pages is finally off your to-do list. All you need to do is bring your big beautiful brain to the briefing meeting.
- You can start from scratch. I help you define the site plan and use UX design insight to write a site that’s easy to navigate, and funnels people to where we want them to go.
- I take of coordinating and project-managing the writing process, including research, developing drafts, liaising with stakeholders, and chasing relevant info.
There are lots of reasons why having a writer take care of your website content is a great shout, but chances are if you’re reading this, you probably already know that.
